Lunar rock tundra1/1/2024 Want the most off-road-ready 2022 Toyota Tundra sans the gasoline-electric hybrid i-Force MAX powertrain? Then pick up a Tundra SR5 or Limited with four-wheel-drive and add on the TRD Off-Road package. Greg Fink's $59,525 Tundra Limited TRD Off-Road Even if the DoubleCab looks a little goofy, the non-hybrid 348-hp twin-turbo V-6 for base models makes more torque sooner than the old truck's beloved 5.7-liter V-8. At $41,075, my truck is better than the previous-generation Tundra: It can tow more, has standard LED headlights and a larger 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, while retaining keyless entry and push-button start. I also found that the $430 SR Tow package that’s not included in the base price isn’t optional in the configurator, but seems necessary as it includes a hitch and trailer harness. For no extra cost, I chose Midnight Black Metallic because it’s the only color offered at that trim level to separate you from the delivery truck at O'Reilly Auto Parts. I was willing to pay an extra $3000 for four-wheel drive, an obvious must-have in Michigan, even if it drops the max towing capacity by almost a half-ton to 11,200 pounds. The larger, more desirable CrewMax cab with a shorter 5.5-foot bed costs an extra $2050 although the DoubleCab with the longer 8.1-foot bed is only $330 extra, it makes the Tundra’s proportions look like a cabin with an attached bowling alley. The base SR trim starts at $38,075 with destination, but keeping the final cost close to $40,000 requires sticking with the smaller DoubleCab and a 6.5-foot bed. Pricing information isn’t yet available for either of these models, but should go on sale at about the same time as the new Trail Special Edition variants do-which means in the fall of 2020.I wanted to see how weird the cheapest new Tundra with four-wheel drive would look. Obviously, they can both we ordered with the Lunar Rock grey paint. The 2021 Toyota Tundra as well as the 2021 Toyota Sequoia also soldier on with barely any changes-so far-with their 5.7L V8 producing 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque and their six-speed automatic transmission. A factory-installed snorkel can be fitted as well.Ģ021 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro Lunar Rock | Photo: Toyota It’s still equipped with a 3.5L V6 engine that develops 278 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque, matched to either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic. Lunar Rock paint is also one of several colours available on the 2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro, which doesn’t get any significant changes for the 2021 model year. The venerable body-on-frame SUV is motivated by a 4.0L V6 engine that develops 270 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque, managed by a five-speed automatic transmission.Ģ021 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro Lunar Rock | Photo: Toyota The 4Runner TRD Pro also gets sturdy black flow form alloy wheels wrapped in Nitto Terra Grappler tires, in addition to a retune of its 2.5-inch Fox Internal Bypass Shocks, further enhancing its off-road prowess. And while all trim levels will benefit from LED fog lamps, the TRD Pro will stick to its RIGID-branded LED units.Ģ021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro Lunar Rock | Photo: Toyota Meanwhile, LED high beams are added to the Limited, Nightshade and TRD Pro variants. The 2021 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro adds LED headlights for the first time to the nameplate, and they are now standard across all trim levels. Replacing Army Green in the TRD Pro range’s colour selection, Lunar Rock is a light grey hue with a shade of green in it, differing slightly from the Cement colour that’s offered on the Trail Special Editions of the 2021 Tacoma, Tundra and 4Runner models-which are still available in Army Green.Ģ021 Toyota TRD Pro Lineup in Lunar Rock | Photo: Toyota 2021 Toyota Trail Versions For Tacoma, 4Runner, and Tundra Coming This Fall
